Description:
Hotel Park, Eger's old-fashioned hotel, is in the middle of the city, right next to its cultural centre, Gárdonyi Géza Színház (Gárdonyi Géza Theatre), and just 500 metres (~550 yards) from the city's historical centre, Dobó tér (Dobó square). Whether you arrive as a single traveller or with a group for a conference, the hotel's proximity by foot to the town's most important sights, museums, and central venues and restaurants is a definite plus. Relax or play sports in the neighbouring Érsekkert (Érsek Garden), the city's largest park. The popular open-air pool and the famous spa, Török fürd. (Turkish Bath) are both located right by the park. The baroque style, turn-of-the-century Park Hotel was Eger's first hotel. It is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its current name by once again shining in its original, baroque pomp, and starting in July of 2007, Park now welcomes its guests as a four-star hotel. With furnishing typical of the time-period, Hotel Park now features 2 suites, 3 deluxe, 11 superior, and 19 classic rooms. The 3-storey building has a lift for handicap accessibility. Aside from the Szivarszalon (The Cigar Salon), the entire building is non-smoking. The Kabos Gyula and Honthy Hanna suites both feature two separate bedrooms, a living room, two bathrooms (one with Jacuzzi and infracabin, one with hydro-massage shower). Deluxe rooms include a bedroom and living room, and a bathroom with a Jacuzzi and either infracabin or hydro-massage shower. Superior rooms are spacious, some have balconies towards the park, and include a bathroom with hydro-massage shower. Every single room has a double bed, and most can be fitted with an extra bed. The rooms use fan-coil air-conditioning and heater systems, suites and deluxe rooms have LCD televisions, all rooms have a safe, and direct internet access is available. During the renovation, the hotel's Gesztenyés Terasz (Chestnut Terrace) was also revamped. A unique feature in Eger, the 250 seat, chestnut-tree lined terrace and restaurant is an ideal location for shows, grill parties, weddings, company events, and customer meetings. A part of the terrace can be covered in case of bad weather. Aside from Park Hotel's grand baroque restaurant halls (White, Yellow, Green room, Winter Garden), a conference room, a library, and an exclusive night club all serve to entertain and rejuvenate our guests. The Coffee and Cigar Salon is especially interesting with its exclusive selection and uniquely historic 1920's atmosphere. The hotel recently built the largest conference hall in the northern-Hungarian region, with a capacity of 700 people. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the hall features natural light, and the ability to split it into multiple rooms using sound-insulated mobile dividers. A nearly 1000 square metre (10000 square foot) service area is perfect for coffee breaks, exhibitions, and receptions. We have several smaller rooms of various sizes for meetings, gatherings, and forums. Our guests can also use services of Hotel Eger, which is in the same hotel bloc and connected to Park Hotel with a corridor. Hotel Eger also built a 120 capacity restaurant, which with the use of mobile dividers can be set up to host private dinners or other exclusive parties. The popular Fagylalt- és Koktélkert (Ice Cream and Cocktail Garden) has once again opened its doors, offering a wide selection of ice cream and drink specialities, in addition to a selection of outdoor children's games, all of which adhere to EU standards and regulations. Our wellness centre has a fun-pool next to the swimming pool, in addition to a Jacuzzi. The sauna has been completely renovated, and we have a wide selection of chambers (ice, steam, aroma, light, infra, and salt) that serve to inspire those who wish to regenerate their mind and body. The air-conditioned fitness room features: solarium, wellness baths, body therapies, massages, fitness and aqua programs. Bath robes and swimming caps are available.The bar at our wellness centre features refreshments that are perfect after a relaxing wellness afternoon. |
